Situated in a remote corner of Hwange National Park, Davison’s camp is a traditional tented safari camp overlooking a prolific waterhole that is visible from the main area and all the tents. The Linkwasha Concession offers excellent year-round game viewing with frequent sightings of lion, elephant, leopard and white rhino as well as a wide variety of antelope.

Named after the founder of Hwange National Park and its first warden, Ted Davison, this camp offers a wonderful bush experience. Both the tents and the separate main area, comprising a lounge, dining room, and open campfire area, look out over the productive waterhole.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Easy access to the famed Ngamo Plains, a haven for wildlife.
  • A small upper deck in the main area is the ideal location from which to watch wildlife at the waterhole.

ACTIVITIES

  • Day and night game drives in 04 x 07-seater open 4×4 Toyota Hiluxes. During winter months hot water bottles (on early morning game drives only), blankets and lined ponchos are provided.
  • A pair of Olympus binoculars is available in each of the game drive vehicles for guests to share amongst themselves whilst game viewing and may be requested from our guides.
  • Guided nature walks.
  • Arranged directly in camp only, and subject to vehicle availability, it may be possible to include a visit to one of the local villages.
  • Log-pile hide at a small mud wallow within walking distance of camp.
  • Visit and interact with the Zimbabwe Parks, Wildlife Management Authority (ZPWMA) and the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit who work in partnership with Wilderness (subject to availability with the duration approximately 45 minutes to 1.0 hour for the experience).
