7 Day Victoria Falls, Chobe House Boat Safari

You will arrive at Victoria Falls International Airport and be transferred to Old Drift Lodge on the Zambezi River.

Old Drift Lodge is a luxurious safari retreat located on the banks of the Zambezi River, just 7 kilometers upstream from the iconic Victoria Falls. Nestled within the Zambezi National Park, the lodge offers breathtaking views of the river and surrounding wilderness.

You should arrive at Old Drift Lodge in time for afternoon tea and a game activity, depending on your flight arrival time (if the flight is on time) and their time at the airport upon arrival in VF.

We suggest finalizing inclusive activities upon arrival so our team can tailor the guests' itinerary based on the weather, recent wildlife sightings and their personal wishlist! Guests can book all optional extra activities with our team at the lodge.

After breakfast, you will embark on the activity of your choice.

🌿 Game Drives (Morning & Afternoon) – Explore the Zambezi National Park in 4x4 vehicles, encountering elephants, buffalo, giraffe, lions and more. Morning drives include tea baskets and afternoon drives feature sundowners.

🚤 River Safaris (Morning & Afternoon) – Enjoy a tranquil cruise along the Zambezi River, complete with drinks and snacks, aboard our luxury 12–14-seater boats.

🚶‍♂️ Walking Safaris – Explore the Zambezi National Park on foot with a professional guide. (Note: Children under 16 are not permitted on walking safaris.)

🍽️ Brunch/Lunch at The Lookout Café (Including Drinks) – Enjoy a scenic lunch, either after a Tour of the Falls or following one of the thrilling high-wire activities (optional) at The Lookout.

💦 Guided Tour of Victoria Falls (Excludes Rainforest Entry Fees) – A breathtaking excursion to the Falls, with the option to pair it with a Lookout Café lunch.

Day 3 Itinerary

Enjoy Old Drift Lodge and all the activities it has to offer!

Victoria Falls offers a wide range of optional activities to enhance your experience. Here are some popular choices:

• Adrenaline Adventures: Try bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting on the Zambezi River, or zip-lining across the gorge.

• Scenic Flights: Experience the "Flight of the Angels" with a helicopter or microlight flight for breathtaking aerial views of the falls.

• Livingstone Island and Devil's Pool: Visit Livingstone Island and take a dip in the Devil's Pool, a natural infinity pool at the edge of the falls.

• Cultural Tours: Explore local villages to learn about the traditions and lifestyles of the communities around Victoria Falls.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and morning activity before your transfer from Old Drift Lodge to Kasane pick-up point for further journey to the Zambezi Queen Houseboat.

A representative will be on hand to facilitate the transfer across the border into Botswana and on to Kasane Immigration.

You’ll then be transferred by a smaller tender boat with a Zambezi Queen Collection staff member to the Namibian Immigration Office.

You then need to get your passport stamped at the Namibian Immigration Office. Please wear comfortable shoes, as there is a short walk to the immigration office.

If you arrive with the 13:00 and 14:00 transfers, you’ll be served lunch, while if you’re transferred at 15:00 or 16:00 you’ll be served a snack before the sunset cruise by tender boat starts. Once all our guests have boarded in the late afternoon, after a safety briefing and if the weather permits, we’ll go in search of some big game by tender boat. This is the perfect time of day to make the most of that golden glow of the African sunset by getting some iconic shots of the animals as they gravitate towards the river before night falls.

Return to the Zambezi Queen and freshen up before meeting your host on the upper deck with a welcome drink. After taking in the spectacular scenery, you’ll make your way to the dining room where you’ll be served a delectable three-course dinner along with an excellent choice of paired wines. Finish off with an espresso or nightcap at the bar before retiring to the night sounds of Africa in the distance.

We know that some guests like to watch the sunrise as they sip on their coffee while others like to take a more leisurely approach. That’s why we let you choose your morning activities, depending on the type of holiday you’re searching for. Perhaps you want to enjoy a water-based safari or a village tour on the Namibian side of the river?

Or perhaps you’d prefer a spot of bird watching or fishing instead? You may even decide to simply remain on board as the luxurious Zambezi Queen glides its way along the banks of the Chobe River.

After your morning activities, enjoy lunch on board while using your unique vantage point to spot wild animals and drink in the expansive views. Join our guide in the afternoon for a water-based safari on a tender boat where you can get up close to an array of wildlife, including some of the 120 000 elephants for which the Chobe is well known. After a delicious dinner, settle down for a restful and tranquil night in your luxurious suite.
