Tucked away in the 37 000-hectare private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Little Kulala treats guests to the unmatched desert luxury. Set in a private reserve with direct access to the Namib Naukluft National Park and the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei, Little Kulala is located at the heart of Namibia’s Namib Desert. The lodge is stylishly designed using neutral colours and organic material so that it blends into the landscape and is cleverly positioned to maximise your views of the dunes.
ACTIVITIES:
- Day and night nature drives in 04 x 06-seater closed Land Cruisers and 02 x 08-seater Land Cruisers with pop-up roof. During
winter months hot water bottles (on early morning game drives only), blankets and lined ponchos are provided. - Private Activities on offer (subject to vehicle availability which needs to be booked and paid for) may be requested in advance.
- Booking of a private vehicle is not possible from another camp/lodge due to the distances involved between the camps/lodges.
- Birding.
- Excursions to Sossusvlei and Sesriem – exclusive entrance for lodge clients only.
- Scenic sundowner excursion.
- Guided nature trail from camp [(weather permitting and subject to the availability of a qualified walking guide) e.g. The Black Mountain Trail – Easy to Moderate fitness level and approximately 1.0 to 3.0 hours in walking duration)].
- Riverbed trails revealing Little Kulala’s “living desert”.
- Self-guided walking trails.
- Guided scorpion walks (weather permitting).
- Stargazing with a laser pointer (weather permitting and according to the lunar phases (not offered around full moon).
- Guided quad bike excursions [subject to availability (12 x quad bikes) and to be booked directly in camp only – for Little Kulala guests only].
- Sunrise breakfasts or brunches at outdoor locations, as well as gin stops.
- In-tent massage treatments (at an additional cost).
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES AT AN ADDITIONAL COST:
- Hot air ballooning [(weather permitting and may be booked directly at the lodge or in advance and pre-paid through your Journey Specialist (should a flight cancel due to adverse weather conditions, no charge is incurred), not available 15 January to 15 February (inclusive), 25 December and 01 January].
